I am excited to announce the launch of my new venture – SimplAI Product.
Over the past few months, I have reflected on what I enjoyed most during my 30-year career. The answer was clear: I love building and creating things. From developing 4th-generation focus reports in my very first job at British Telecom in the late 80s to building one of BT's first internal e-commerce platforms in the mid-90s. At AT&T, I ran a $500M product portfolio, and at Voxiva, I helped build the largest text-based maternal health application in the world, as well as some other remarkable digital health products. And most recently, at Ostendio, I designed and scaled an award-winning risk management platform.
As I reflected on these achievements, I realized that the process of building and launching these solutions has been the most joyful part of my career. Collaborating with clients, partners, and colleagues to create valuable products is incredibly rewarding. When you get it right the impact can be profound. Most importantly, the journey has taught me many lessons about why some products succeed or fail and the common denominators in each case.
This passion has inspired me to better understand and improve the product development process. Many organizations face the same challenges I have encountered: failing to prioritize requirements effectively, misaligning product missions with corporate objectives, and over-relying on either subject matter experts (SMEs) or client feedback without striking the right balance.
To succeed, product development must be seen as a disciplined and ongoing process where every step matters.
Launching a product, however, is just the beginning. The environment doesn’t stand still—clients’ needs change, technology advances, and competitors adapt. A successful product must remain agile and address the unique needs of different stakeholders. Sales teams need tools to drive revenue, marketing requires differentiated features to promote, client services depend on operational efficiency, and the CFO demands a sustainable long-term strategy to make money.
I am also deeply interested in the practical application of AI in this space. Data-driven processes can benefit significantly from AI, and product development—done right—is inherently data-driven. I am curious to explore how AI can enhance the product development process, from ideation to execution.
And so, welcome to SimplAI Product. Initially, this will be a services company where I work with organizations to improve their product development processes through the implementation of AI. My vision is to build an AI-driven platform that enables product leaders to track and manage all aspects of their product development on a unified thread.
These are the early days for SimplAI Product, and like any high-quality product development journey, it starts with detailed discovery. If you are leading or part of a product development team, or an early-stage company considering hiring a product lead, I would love to hear your story. Your insights will help me validate and refine my vision.
I am excited for what lies ahead and look forward to sharing updates as SimplAI Product evolves.
